Each year, I make it a priority to support the incredible work done by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH). This annual walk has become a meaningful tradition, not only as a way to show appreciation for the amazing staff but also to bring donations to the little warriors currently receiving care.
A Personal Connection
The NICU holds a special place in my heart. Both of my children received care there—one for 11 weeks and the other for 2 weeks. Those weeks were some of the most challenging of my life, but the incredible staff provided care, reassurance, and hope during an uncertain time. This is why supporting the NICU has become a cause so close to my family.
Giving Back to the Little Warriors
The NICU is a place where miracles happen daily, but it is also a space that can be emotionally challenging for families. By bringing donations, we hope to make a small difference for the babies and their families during what is often a stressful time. The strength and resilience of these little ones are inspiring, and it's an honor to support them in any way I can.
A Special Thanks to Morrisons in Lowestoft
This year, I’m thrilled to extend a big thank-you to Morrisons in Lowestoft. Upon hearing about my efforts, they generously contributed a care package to the cause. Their kindness and willingness to step in and support this initiative truly warmed my heart.
Why It Matters
Supporting the NICU is about more than just donations—it’s about showing these families that they are not alone and that their community cares. Every small act of kindness can make a huge impact, especially when it’s directed toward those facing difficult challenges.
I encourage anyone who is able to consider supporting your local NICU or a similar cause. Together, we can make a real difference.
